The Atelier Ana Rita Soares, known for its tailor-made projects, was challenged to develop a project for a whole villa. Their clients, hotel chain owners who enjoy receiving and entertaining people, wanted an open floor plan that prioritized living spaces. Drawing inspiration from the city and the house's location, the Atelier designed spaces that seamlessly blended urban aesthetics with natural elements.
The contemporary architecture of Restelo leaves no one indifferent. With its organic and refined lines, the house exudes sophistication and elegance. The entrance features a dark-toned wood console and a table lamp flanked by sliding doors, setting the tone for the rest of the design. The Atelier's custom-made carpet and the two-story bookcase in the living room are the standout pieces that connect different areas of the house. The design also incorporates several nooks and crannies for decorative items, plants, and hidden storage, adding functionality to the space.
In bringing their vision to life, the Atelier utilized a combination of 3D renders and floor plans to showcase their ideas to the client. Custom-made pieces were seamlessly integrated with carefully selected design items from renowned brands such as Minotti, Rimadesio, Cattelan, Trussardi, and Arketipo. The two-story bookshelf, a central element in the design, was meticulously crafted from MDF wood lacquered in light gray and anthracite.
The living room and entry hall of Restelo are the highlights of this project. The living room, spanning 78.89 m2, is divided into two sitting spaces with distinct purposes. One area is dedicated to socializing around the TV, while the other, facing the garden, invites relaxation and enjoyment of the view. The bookcase serves as a linking element, connecting the living room to the home office on the second floor.
The design process for Restelo began in 2016 and was completed in 2020. Located in Lisbon, Portugal, this villa showcases the Atelier's commitment to creating spaces that reflect their clients' taste and style. The Atelier's specialized team conducted extensive research and developed cohesive designs that mirror their client's perspectives and vision.
The Atelier Ana Rita Soares successfully transformed the refined architectural blueprint of Restelo into a cozy and comfortable space without compromising its essence. Through careful selection of fabrics, pillows, accessories, and rugs, they brought warmth and comfort to the rooms. The result is a harmonious blend of contemporary design and inviting ambiance.
Restelo, designed by the Atelier Ana Rita Soares, is a testament to their expertise in interior architecture. The minimal and open space style of the house showcases their meticulous attention to detail. The custom-made bookcase, connecting the living room to the home office, exemplifies their ability to seamlessly integrate storage solutions into their designs. This exceptional project has been featured in Lux Deco magazine's 2020 winter edition and the Portuguese TV program "Posso Entrar."
Restelo has been awarded the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This recognition highlights the outstanding creativity and ingenuity of the design, which seamlessly combines art, science, and technology to enhance the quality of life.
